Registered and Licensed Plastic Surgeons

None of us would trust an unqualified car mechanic with our cars, so what makes some people who had cosmetic surgeries every year risk their bodies in the hands of bad surgeons?

Please take note that all registered medical practitioners who qualify and wish to practise aesthetic medical practice (including cosmetic surgeries) are required to register under the National Registry of Registered Medical Practitioners Practising Aesthetic Medical Practice in Malaysia.

Cosmetic surgeons in Malaysia would need to go through the credentialing and privileging process in order to practice cosmetic surgeries in Malaysia. The process is assisted by the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Malaysia / Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons (CSAMM/MAPACS) Joint Committee for Aesthetic Medical/Surgical Practice.

Bear in mind that the plastic surgeon's 'years of experience' alone may not be truly reflective of the surgeon's skills and also how 'safe' is the surgeon. You will still need to merge other information that you have gathered from reliable sources in order to come to a decision.

Conclusion

Finally, the choice that remains is yours.

While you try to take every care to ensure the best and safest results for your procedure, do also monitor what you are feeling or experiencing after your surgery – if you feel that something is not right, do not hesitate to see your surgeon or go back to the hospital. Hospitals are open 24/7 in Malaysia.  If you are supposed to go back for a follow up, please do so accordingly.
