Juvederm and Restylane range of products both contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that has plumping effects for the skin. Restylane was the first Hyaluronic acid filler on the market.

JUVÉDERM

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is an injectable gel that temporarily adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips—in adults over the age of 21. JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is also approved for smoothing and correcting moderate to severe parentheses lines, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the nose and mouth), in adults.

First approved by the FDA in 2006, JUVÉDERM® XC corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the parentheses lines or "smile lines" around the nose and mouth. JUVÉDERM® XC is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, which may give the appearance of a smoother surface.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC injectable gel is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral lines, often called "lipstick lines" in adults over the age of 21.

Comparing Juvederm and Restylane Cost

Since Juvéderm and Restylane are noninvasive, no downtime or time away from work is required. However, the injections are also considered cosmetic, so they aren’t covered by insurance. Your actual cost will depend on the provider’s costs, where you live in, and how many injections you need. A well trained provider might be able to use less for the same result. 

Beware of imitations. If the cost is too low, this might be a red flag that the product may not be genuine.

Juvéderm costs more, but in some cases the results last longer. This means you won’t need follow-up injections as quickly as you might with Restylane.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the average cost for hyaluronic acid dermal fillers is $651. This is a national estimate. The cost also varies between types of hyaluronic acid fillers. You’ll want to speak with your own provider in advance to learn the total costs of your individual treatment.

Juvéderm costs

On average, each Juvéderm injection can cost $600 or more. The cost may be slightly lower for smaller areas of treatment, such as lip lines. Juvederm Voluma in general can cost more than the other Juvederm products.

Restylane costs

Restylane costs slightly less than Juvéderm. Again, it really depends on which specific sub-brand you are using.
